RESEARCH AFFILIATIONS

EVOCAVI has a long history of collaborating on a variety of science-based interview research projects. We find these practitioner-researcher collaborations to be invaluable. The researchers become more informed about what investigators do and the challenges they encounter, while the practitioners get to learn the value of conducting good research and how it can make them better interviewers. Because of our continued interest in facilitating these studies, we have established "research affiliations" with several science-based interview research labs at universities in the U.S.

Below, we invite you to learn more about these research labs and the incredible work they do to further the field of science-based interviewing.

ABOUT THE APPLIED COGNITION LAB

Researchers at the Iowa State University's Applied Cognition Lab apply basic theory in cognition and use experimental research designs to assess a variety of real-world phenomena.  Their team includes collaborators with significant professional experience in the law enforcement, military, and intelligence communities, and their research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Departments of Defense, Justice, and Homeland Security, and the U.S. Intelligence Community.

ADOLESCENT AND CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCE ACE LAB

Department of Psychology, University of California, Irvine

ABOUT THE ACE LAB

The University of California-Irvine's Adolescent and Childhood Experience ACE Lab is run by Jodi Quas Ph.D. Dr. Quas and her team are conducting cutting-edge research testing methods of talking with children and adolescents to find out what—if anything—happened to them, and to learn about their needs, knowledge, and desires in non-leading and open manners. Knowledge of all of these topics is incredibly important for effective identification of and interventions for children and adolescents who may have been exposed to violence, harm, or exploitation.
